The Stunning And Amazing Benefits Of Daily Walking
The benefits of walking…
I know, I know, people act like walking isn’t a real exercise, but it really is!
I think walking is easier than running for most people, and it is something they can maintain for their entire lives.
Walking is a great form of exercise and has numerous benefits.
It can help improve cardiovascular health, strengthen your muscles, increase flexibility, reduce stress, and boost your mood.
Additionally, walking can help you maintain a healthy weight, lower your risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes, and even improve your sleep.
Walking is also an accessible form of exercise that can be done anywhere, anytime, and its free!
It’s a great way to stay active and enjoy the outdoors.
How to start a walking plan for beginners
Starting a walking plan as a beginner doesn’t have to be intimidating. The key is to start gradually and gradually increase the distance and intensity of your walks. Here are a few tips to get you started:
- Set realistic goals. Start by setting attainable goals, such as walking for 15 minutes each day, or walking a certain distance each day.
- Wear the right gear. Make sure you have comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing for walking.
- Choose the right time. Choose a time of day that works best for you and try to stick to it.
- Find a walking buddy. Having a walking partner can be a great motivator and help you stay on track.
- Incorporate different types of walking. Mixing up your walking routine can help keep it interesting and help with motivation.
- Track your progress. Writing down your goals and tracking your progress can help you stay motivated and reach your goals.

When Should You Walk?
I recommend walking in the morning (if you can) because getting morning sun is SO beneficial because it can reduce your cortisol levels
But even an afternoon or evening walk has amazing benefits.
Why is walking in the morning so beneficial?
Walking in the morning is beneficial because it helps to kickstart your metabolism, get oxygen flowing around your body, and can help to reduce stress levels.
Walking in the morning can also help to increase your energy levels, improve your concentration, and can even help to reduce your risk of chronic diseases.
Additionally, it can help to set the tone for a productive day and give you the motivation to stay active throughout the day.
Morning sun and lower cortisol levels
Studies have shown that just 15-20 minutes of sun exposure can significantly reduce cortisol levels in the body and can also increase your vitamin D levels
Make sure you don’t wear sun glasses to get the full benefits.
Every morning I try to walk about 2.5 miles and it is one of the best parts of my day!
I either listen to music or listen to a podcast/audible and it takes me about 45 minutes from start to finish
I get morning sun plus exercise! Perfect combo ?
Vitamin D and the Sun
Vitamin D is an essential nutrient that your body needs for many important functions, including bone health and the absorption of calcium.
One of the best ways to get Vitamin D is through exposure to sunlight.
When your skin is exposed to sunlight, it produces Vitamin D.
The amount of Vitamin D your body produces depends on the amount of sun exposure and the time of day.
To get the optimal amount of Vitamin D from the sun, try to get some sun exposure between 10am and 3pm, when the UV index is highest.
Eating foods high in Vitamin D, such as eggs and fatty fish, is also a great way to supplement your body’s Vitamin D needs.
And if needed, supplement with some Vitamin D (consult your doctor beforehand and get your levels checked)
