My Top 10 Tips To Living A Healthier Life Today
Why is it important to live a healthy life?
Why is self confidence so important?
Is self confidence linked to living a healthier life?
I get these kinds of questions all the time, and I definitely think living a healthier life and self confidence are linked!
Living a healthy life is important for many reasons. Eating healthy, getting enough sleep, and exercising can help maintain your physical and mental health.
Additionally, living a healthy lifestyle can reduce your risk of developing chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes.
Self confidence is important because it affects how you perceive yourself, your relationships, and your life in general.
I would argue that having self confidence is one of the most important things in life. It really does affect almost every aspect of your life.
If you have poor self confidence then that can have an incredible effect on your personal relationships and even your work life.
That is why it is so important to work on your self confidence and realize just how great you really are!
Self confidence can also help you build resilience and cope better with life’s challenges. Having a positive self-image helps you feel better about yourself, and makes it easier to take risks and try new things.
Self confidence is linked to living a healthier life because having a positive self-image can help motivate you to take better care of yourself.
When you feel good about yourself, it’s easier to make healthy choices such as eating nutritious foods and exercising regularly.
When you feel bad about yourself, you are more likely to make those “bad choices” like eating fried and fatty foods.
Never forget everything in moderation!
I love a good French fry, I just don’t eat them everyday. You don’t have to give up all of the foods that you love.
Here are 10 easy tips to live a healthier life today:
- Get enough sleep – aim for 7-8 hours (at least) of sleep every night. I actually recommend that women strive for 8 hours minimum! Recent research shows that women need more sleep than men, and are recommending about8-10 hours per night for women and around 8 hours for men.
- Eat a balanced diet – focus on eating a lot of proteins (think steak, chicken, fish, fruits), and vegetables. Also lots of fresh berries and citrus fruits are great like oranges, lemons and limes.
- Exercise regularly – even just 20 minutes of physical activity a day can make a difference. Or why don’t you try a walk around the block? Or maybe a yoga or Pilates session!
- Avoid processed foods – these are often high in calories and unhealthy fats. Try to focus on eating REAL food like meats, beans, veggies, and fruits.
- Drink plenty of water – water helps flush toxins from your body and keep you hydrated. I make sure to always carry my Yeti around with me! And I always squeeze a lemon in there and sprinkle some pink Himalayan salt as well.
- Take time to relax – try yoga, meditation, or even just taking a few moments to breathe deeply. I love to meditate right before bed since it gets me into a relaxed mood ❤️
- Get outside – spend time in nature to reduce stress and anxiety. Hiking has SO many benefits! Even just a walk in the park has mental health benefits too
- Practice self-care – take a few moments each day to do something that makes you feel good. Why don’t you start a morning or evening routine? This can be a great way to start practicing self care everyday.
- Limit screen time – try to limit your time on devices like TVs, computers, and phones to just a few hours a day. This one is probably the hardest one for me! But it really is important to limit our screen time. I have started turning my phone off at night around ~7:30-8pm every night instead of scrolling mindlessly until I go to bed. It really does help you sleep better when you turn off your phone.
- Connect with others – foster meaningful relationships with family, friends, and colleagues. Set up a weekly FaceTime or phone call with a friend or a family member to connect
