10 Easy Morning Routine Ideas You Can Steal

What is a morning routine?

A morning routine is a great way to start your day off on the right foot.

It can help you set the tone for the rest of the day and help you be more productive and focused.

A typical morning routine might include waking up at a consistent time, drinking a glass of water, stretching or exercising, having breakfast, and getting ready for the day ahead.

It’s important to make sure your routine is tailored to your individual needs, so feel free to adjust it as needed to make sure you’re starting your day off feeling refreshed and energized.

I feel like my life changed when I started a daily routine!

Your motivation levels will ebb and flow, but your consistency should stay the same.

And this morning routine can be as long or as short as you want it to be.

I know some people with a two+ hour morning routine and others with a 15 minute one. It really is whatever is best for you, and should be completely customized to you and your needs.

Morning routines are also another thing you should build slowly over time. Maybe start with adding lemon water and waking up at the same time everyday for a week and see how you feel.

If it has been relatively easy adding in these two habits, then maybe add on a third ritual. And keep building until you are happy with your routine!

Do you want some easy morning routine ideas that you can incorporate into your daily routine?

Here are 10 easy morning routine ideas you can try…

10 morning routine ideas to add to your day

  1. Start your day by drinking a glass of water to rehydrate and get your body going. I love to add one lemon and a sprinkle of pink Himalayan salt as well. It is super important to rehydrate after you sleep!
  2. Make your bed and tidy up your bedroom to give yourself a sense of accomplishment. I also like to open up the curtains and the blinds and let light into the room. If the weather is nice, then why not open the windows as well and let some fresh air in? ✨
  3. Begin your day with a few stretches or a light yoga session to wake up your body and get your blood pumping. This will also help wake you up and get you ready for the day
  4. Take time to read a few pages of a book, or an article, to get your mind going. Or maybe even listen to an audible or a podcast. I like to switch between educational podcasts and books and then comedic ones. A few of my favorite podcasts are Juicy Scoop, Joe Rogan, The Skinny Confidential, and the Huberman Lab
  5. Take a few minutes to meditate and practice mindfulness to bring clarity and focus to your day. Even just 5 minutes per day has amazing benefits. You can even do it in bed right after you wake up if you want to! I love to lay down when I meditate, but you can also sit up straight as well
  6. Start a gratitude journal and write down three things you are thankful for.
  7. Eat a healthy breakfast to energize your body. Don’t skip on breakfast! And aim for lots of protein. Eggs are a quick and easy protein source if you are short on time in the morning! Or maybe even a smoothie with protein powder
  8. Go for a walk or run and get some fresh air. The sun has SO many benefits, especially the morning sun. Let’s reduce those cortisol levels!
  9. Spend time planning out your day and setting goals and objectives to stay focused. I like to write out a list for the day of goals or tasks I need or want to accomplish
  10. Treat yourself to a hot cup of tea or coffee to get your day started right! My favorite thing to do in the morning is sit outside in the sun with a cup of coffee on a warm, sunny day reading or listening to a podcast or writing in my journal! It is a wonderful way to start your day. I find that it is super stressful if I wake up and just start go, go, going right away. I like to slowly get up and have a nice morning before anything hectic happens that day ?
